Book Review – Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms

Book Review of Shaken by Tim Tebow

“…I noticed an older gentleman wearing dark glasses and carrying a white support cane, the kind used by the blind. Surrounding him was classic New York traffic – a sea of beeping taxis, the masses rushing across congested city streets… …Three times he tried to make his way into the flow of the foot traffic, tapping his cane along the way, but then likely feeling overwhelmed, he’d stop in midstride and take a few steps back toward the curb. Not one person stopped to help this guy cross the street. Not one.” Tim Tebow

We have all been there. The last time you drove past someone who was pulled over on the side of the road, what did you do?

Did you stop to help them?

Did you wish you knew more about vehicles so that maybe you could help?

Or did you just keep driving?

Tim Tebow talks a lot about going against what most people are doing in order to stand up for what you believe is right. Throughout the book, he gives examples of how he has personally stood up for what he believes, as well as seeing others do the same thing.

In the book Shaken: Discovering Your True Identity in the Midst of Life’s Storms, Tim Tebow gave some insight as to what it was like to reach the very top of his career, and then lose it all within a couple of years. He also gives some great advice, which I love to find in books.

In the beginning of the book, you will read about how Tim’s football career changed his life, and how his faith helped him to get through the disappointment when it came to an end.  Following that, Tim goes on to say that improving yourself despite what your critics tell you, standing out from the crowd of people trying to be “normal,” and just going out and doing something will take you far in life.

If you are going through a tough time right now and need some inspiration, or if you are trying to improve yourself, this book can help you. If want to stand out from those masses of people who ignored the blind man in New York, or if you haven’t accomplished whatever your goals might be, I recommend that you buy Tim’s book.
